Experience & Qualifications


Experience includes

Over 20 years experience working in education, social care and the NHS, including working with young people with physical disabilities and emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. I have practised as a therapist since 2005 working with adults’ children and young people. 

Conducted assessments and provided short and time limited Integrative therapy in the NHS for adults and young people.

Developed a school counselling service and managed a caseload of individual long term therapy for young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties due to extreme trauma, the majority of whom were in care.

Tutor and Welfare Co-ordinator at a training provider for 16-19 year olds who have barriers to learning, teaching personal development, life skills and Level 1 Employability.

Private practice in Christchurch both short and long term work with adults and young people.

First Class Honours BA Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, University of Southampton
BACP (accred)
Diploma in Counselling, University of Southampton
Certificate in Counselling Studies (Level 2), Bournemouth and Poole College
Certificate in Counselling Skills, Bournemouth and Poole College
PTTLS- Level 4 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector, Bournemouth & Poole College

Relevant Training
Level 3 Safeguarding Children- up to date.
To keep up to date with professional development I attend regular workshops and training throughout the year, including training such as; working with clients who self harm, attachment theory, trauma and mental health.

I am competent with working with a wide spectrum of distress and concern.

Keeping up to date with training and regular personal supervision is very important to me as this enables me to keep up to date with research and current best practice whilst being mindful of ethical considerations. such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship problems, self-esteem problems, bereavement and trauma.
